Salisbury Steak
Salisbury steak is a down home favorite! It's really just a fancy hamburger patty smothered in caramelized onions and thick brown gravy but it is crazy good! I pair my steaks with creamy homemade mashed potatoes and buttered biscuits.

Salisbury Steak

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
½ cup dry bread crumbs
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 large egg
2 tbsp oil
1 onion (sliced)
2 tbsp flour (or 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp of cold water)
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 cups beef broth
Instructions

Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper until well combined.

Form beef mixture into patties.

Drizzle oil into a deep skillet on medium heat.

Once skillet is hot, place beef patties in and brown on both sides (about 5-6 minutes each side).

Remove patties from skillet and set to the side.

Toss onions in and brown; add in minced garlic.

Sprinkle in flour (or pour in cornstarch “slurry”); stir.

Stir in ketchup.

Place patties back in the skillet and cover them with the gravy.

Lower heat, cover and simmer for 20 – 25 minutes.

Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
